THE SAINTE CATHERINES

The Sainte Catherines are a six-piece punk-rock band who formed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1999.[1] The group's name comes from Rue Sainte-Catherine, one of Montreal's main streets.[2] Their third record, The Art of Arrogance was released on local label Dare to Care Records in 2003 and on the German label Yo-Yo Records.[3] In 2006, the band released its fourth LP, titled Dancing for Decadence.[4] The album was released in the USA by Fat Wreck Chords.[5] (archived: https://web.archive.org/web/20070610072658/http://www.montrealmirror.com/2006/032306/music2.html) The Sainte Catherines are the first band from Quebec to be signed to Fat Wreck.[6] In August 2006, The Sainte Catherines played their 500th show. They also released split 7" records with Fifth Hour Hero and Whiskey Sunday. In 2008, The Sainte Catherines won a GAMIQ Award for punk album of the year.[7]

They disbanded in April 2012 after their farewell tour with The Hunters. The latter are managed by Hugo Mudie and their second album was produced by him and Marc-André Beaudet. The last show took place at Club Soda in Montréal on April 27.[8]

Several members of the band also play in a side-project, country-folk band; Yesterday's Ring.[9] Yesterday's Ring doesn't have any plans for the future. Their last shows were on September 24–25-26 2010.

Hugo Mudie & Fred Jacques play shows as a duet since June 2011. Their first release "Miracles" is due summer of 2012.

Over the years, the band shared the stage with many established acts such as Subhumans, Leatherface, NOFX, as well as peers Anonymus, Grimskunk, Fifth Hour Hero, Inepsy, and many more.

They released Fire Works on Anchorless records (USA), Union Label Group (Canada) and Guerilla Asso (France) on October 26, 2010.

THE SUICIDE MACHINES

The Suicide Machines is an American punk rock band formed in March 1991 in Detroit, Michigan and disbanded in May 2006. Since 2009, the band has occasionally played reunion shows. During the course of their career the band released six full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records and Side One Dummy Records. Though they experienced several lineup changes over the years, founding members Jason Navarro and Dan Lukacinsky remained regular fixtures. The band's musical style initially blended elements of punk rock, ska, and hardcore into a genre popularly known as ska punk or "ska-core," which characterized their first two albums. During the middle of their career they shifted gears, moving away from this sound and producing two albums with a heavy pop rock influence. Their final two albums moved back towards their mid-1990s style, bringing back heavy ska punk and hardcore elements.

Despite being signed to a major record label for their first four albums, The Suicide Machines did not experience significant mainstream success. However, they did achieve a relatively high level of underground recognition through relentless touring, including multiple performances on the Warped Tour. This trend continued when the band moved to an independent label for their last four years, before their breakup brought an abrupt end to the band's career.
