Adam Cicchillitti and Steve Cowan have set the standard in the classical guitar world with their award-winning recordings, international tours, and major commissions. They won second prize in 2023 and third prize in 2021 at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Ensemble Competition. In 2021, they also won Classical Recording of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards for their album Focus. Their second album, Impressions Intimes, was nominated in the same category in 2022, and their next album, Lyrique, will be released on the Analekta label in 2025.
The CC Duo, celebrated for their contributions to contemporary music, premiered nine electroacoustic works commissioned by the New York–based ICEBERG collective at the inaugural 21st Century Guitar Conference in Ottawa. With support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, they have commissioned six new works for two guitars and orchestra, which will be featured on their album Re/String, slated for release in February 2025 on Leaf Music.
The duo has toured internationally with prestigious organizations such as Debut Atlantic and Prairie Debut. They also have concerts scheduled in Texas, Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire, and Connecticut in 2025. Adam and Steve are proud to be sponsored by Augustine Strings and perform on guitars made by Sergei de Jonge and Bruno Boutin.
