Luce Dufault

Born in Orleans, Ontario, her artistic journey, traced on two continents, is strewn with experiences and successes. It all started in Aylmer, at the age of fifteen, in a shopping mall. She was singing with her back to the audience! It was with Stable Mates, her first band, that she toured Montreal's blues sanctuaries. Her rhythm'n blues repertoire and her powerful voice already won her the public's esteem.

In November 92, Luc Plamondon offered her the role of the groupie in La légende de Jimmy, and in the spring of 93, she recorded Quand les hommes vivront d'amour, with all the profits going to the Montreal youth shelter. In the fall of 1993, Luc Plamondon offered her the role of Marie-Jeanne in the rock opera Starmania, an engagement that would last for two years. Starmania won her a Felix award, a Victoire de la musique award and a fabulous opportunity to perform Le monde est stone in front of 21 million European television viewers!

Released in March 1996, her eponymous album earned her four ADISQ nominations. She went on stage the following fall to present her first solo show. All over Quebec, the same reaction, Luce Dufault's warm, powerful and exceptional voice transcends everything.

In 1997, after several radio hits, she won the Félix award for the "show of the year-performer". Her first album sold 170,000 copies.

In 1998, she recorded the album Des milliards de choses. Certified "GOLD", the show Des milliards de choses impresses and captivates the critics: "BY SEEING HER ON STAGE, I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD: I LOVE HER TOO MUCH. Laurent Saulnier, Voir. "LET LOOSE, HAPPY, THIS GIRL IS CAPABLE OF ANYTHING. Sylvain Cormier, Le Devoir. "SHE IS OF THE BREED OF MAJOR FEMALE PERFORMERS, PERFORMERS WHO LAST, PERFORMERS ON WHOM MUSICIANS AND POETS CAN COUNT TO SEE THEIR WORKS TRANSCEND. Rachel Lussier, La Tribune.

In April 2000, everything went well for Luce and she gave herself a gift: the recording of a live acoustic album where she covered her greatest hits. This is how the hits of Etta James, Carole King or Billie Holliday rubbed shoulders with La chanson des vieux amants by Jacques Brel. Entitled Soir de première, the album reached the No. 1 spot in the Quebec charts upon its release.

Au-delà des mots, her fourth album, was launched in October, followed by a major tour of nearly 100 shows across Quebec.
