Biography
Jeanne Côté is originally from Petite-Vallée, in Gaspésie. Coming from a family of musicians, she is obsessed with human connections, the windows and the river that accompany her everywhere. After launching the EP Aller-Retour (2019), produced by Louis-Jean Cormier, the singer-songwriter unveils her first full album, Suite pour Personne, released last January and produced by Émilie Proulx and Arthur Bourdon-Durocher . In spring 2023, the artist participates in the 27th edition of Francouvertes, and wins first place in this showcase competition. Rooted in the piano, she offers an alternative pop-folk universe where the voice and the texts are highlighted. Through luminous and immersive songs, she explores the states of solitude, the joys and the scattered landmarks of the twenties. Jeanne Côté carries a quiet strength, influenced by the women who have always inspired her, from Marie-Jo Thério to Kate Bush and her grandmother Denise.
