Au bistro des découvertes !
Not all great talents are great stars. Discovering them, despite their relative obscurity, is a keenly felt pleasure. We gain an appreciation for our environment, capable of offering such beautiful presences. We share the thrill of a brand-new performance. We experience a moment of beautiful guidance that wants to do good, just by forging a link.

It’s in this spirit that La Slague invites you to “Au bistro des découvertes“. This intimate concert series is carefully curated, with new talent personally recommended by seasoned French Ontario artists. Our old hands on the music scene are well placed to make good musical acquaintances, and like us, the stars love to share their finds with their friends. So be one of their friends!

Au Bistro des Découvertes, you’ll come for the good atmosphere, the good food, the good music, the good company, all under the guidance of the evening’s artist godparents, to create an intimate and convivial evening with their protégés.

An initiative of La Slague, under the artistic direction of Dan Bédard.

March 19th - Darlene Raven presents...
Darlene Raven's music reflects her extensive travels and interest in different cultures. She is an avid world dancer and her musical practice is diverse, with the Road Dogs (bohemian cowgirl cabaret), Sweetwater Women (native percussion group) and even Les Troubadours choir.

Kristin Sweetland
"One of the best guitarists in the country" - Roots Musique Canada
Kristin Sweetland is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and interdisciplinary artist. An accomplished fingerstyle guitarist, she creates complex musical landscapes to accompany her stories and songs. Over the years, Sweetland has released numerous CDs and EPs, and won two awards in Folk Music Ontario's "Songs from the Heart" competition. She has performed at major festivals in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Mexico, both as a solo artist and as part of the instrumental duo Captain Dirt & The Skirt. For her new studio project, Trilogies, due for release in spring 2024, Sweetland swaps lyrics for vocals. This allows her to concentrate mainly on the arrangements of a multitude of instruments and to approach her voice in a different way.

Discover Darlene Raven's favorite meal from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the show from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
