In 1981 Massimo (the son of two Sicilian immigrants) walked into a Montreal English elementary school. Even though Massimo was born in Canada, he did not speak even one word of English. Standing there dressed in an Adidas track suit and holding his lunch (a giant plastic grocery bag big enough to feed 5 children) Massimo would soon find out that his growing pains were going to be a little different than the average Canadian kid.
