Storytelling Conference: Bringing Tales Out of Books

Most of the tales we know today have reached us through books (or animated films, which are often inspired by books). But telling a story is not just reading or reciting it—it’s about giving it a voice, breath, and body to bring it to life and make people want to listen. How can we reclaim the oral tradition so essential to this literary genre?

Through a brief introduction to her journey and profession, Mafane invites the audience to rethink the different ways of embracing and bringing to life stories from the traditional repertoire.

The conference will be followed by a Q&A session and a short break. Participants will then be invited to take part in a group visual art activity, fostering self-expression and culminating in a collective artwork to be displayed in the theater hall before the performance.

Please note that the conférence will be in french :)
