As we climb towards Easter, experience Johann Sebastian Bach’s masterly musical retelling of the Passion of Christ.

It is through human feelings – fear, pain, compassion – that the musician Bach, the preacher Bach, leads his listeners to contemplate the divine drama.
_Gilles Cantagrel, Le Moulin et la rivière, 1998

This grand concert of sacred music will be presented by L’Harmonie des saisons, a vocal ensemble and orchestra on period instruments, on tour.

L'Harmonie des saisons, sous la direction d'Eric Milnes

Two-time JUNO Award winning L'Harmonie des saisons, the vocal and period-instrument ensemble, is dedicated through the expertise of its members to re-introducing audiences to the grand masterpieces of historic sacred music, principally through its series of large-scale performances at Abbaye of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac and at Saint-Dominique’s Church in Quebec city. Based in the heart of the Eastern Townships region, the ensemble performs frequently throughout Quebec, Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe.

The ensembles growing discography has been awarded two Juno and two Opus prizes, and garnered numerous critically acclaimed reviews. Each of their recordings has been described by CBC/Radio-Canada as among the most distinguished recordings produced in Canada, and a place in Apple Music’s Top 10 Classical Albums. In Spring 2022, the directors of the Ensemble, Mélisande Corriveau and Eric Milnes, have been invited as guest artists at New York's Carnegie Hall with The Orchestra of St. Luke's and Montreal's Symphonic Hall in performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion. In recent seasons the Ensemble offers its performances on regional tours, collaborating with presenters who are passionate about sharing wonderful performances of this repertoire.
