RICHY JAY

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Richy Jay grew up surrounded by music and began his artistic journey in 2002 as a member of the rap group Hottansyon Hip Hop. After moving to the Dominican Republic in 2004, he expanded his musical horizons by performing with his brother in the duo 2B Jay before settling in Canada to launch his solo career. Since releasing his debut album I Was Born To Win in 2015, he has built a distinctive sound blending Afrobeat, Kompa, Zouk, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, and R&B. His talent has earned him several awards, including Kilimanjaro Music Awards honors and an ADISQ nomination for his acclaimed albums Caribbean Soul, Le Temps, and Recto Verso. In 2026, Richy Jay released his sixth album, Caribbean Love, a vibrant celebration of love, Caribbean culture, and his diasporic identity through songs performed in Haitian Creole, French, English, and Spanish.
