For the past 25 years, Barbara Kaneratonni Diabo has been evolving as a dancer and choreographer. A native of the Kanien'keha:ka (Mohawk) nation of Kahnawake, she is artistic director of A'nó:wara Dance Theatre and a virtuoso hoop dancer. Her dancing combines pow-wow, Haudenosaunee and contemporary styles. This gifted artist acts as a bridge between her people and society as a whole: with her, people's awareness is broadened, opening the door to new possibilities.
