ZMAGRYA is back with the third volume of Gnawa Fusion.
Known as being the source of blues music, Gnawa music is a sacred genre hailing from North Africa. The percussion from Qraqeb and the rhythms of the Guembri will lead you into a beautiful trance.
We've curated a live fusion show with local superstar, BOULILA and his band, where we will witness Gnawa Jazz, Funk, and Afrobeats live fusions for the first time at ZMAGRYA. -
Our DJs CASAKOBRAE and REDMONKEY will be blending all genres of electronic and hiphop music with Issawa, Gnawa, Chaabi, Rai and more!
Ausgang Plaza is wheelchair accessible. The event is 18+ only.

Considérée comme l'origine du blues, la musique gnawa est un genre sacré originaire d'Afrique du Nord. Les percussions du qraqeb et les rythmes du guembri vous plongeront dans une transe envoûtante.
Nous avons organisé un spectacle fusion live avec la superstar locale BOULILA et son groupe, où nous assisterons pour la première fois à ZMAGRYA à des fusions live de jazz gnawa, de funk et d'afrobeats.
Nos DJ CASAKOBRAE et REDMONKEY mélangeront tous les genres de musique électronique et hip-hop avec Issawa, Gnawa, Chaabi, Rai et bien d'autres encore !

BOULILA (LIVE)
Boulila is a young Canadian-Moroccan music composer, Gnawa music group leader (ma’’alem), and jazz artist based in Montreal.
Gnawa music has called him through the contemporary genre of jazz, a descendant of blues music. Now, he explores fusions of Gnawa with Jazz, Funk, Blues, and Afrobeats.
We are honoured to have BOULILA leading the Gnawa traditional performance with his Guembri and vocals. The Gnawa group will merge together the Qraqeb, various instruments, dances, and their vocals to present a soul touching show.
CASAKOBRAE
Casakobrae is a producer, artist and DJ hailing from Casablanca, Morocco, now making waves in Montreal’s dynamic music scene.
Her passion for music began in the bustling streets of Casablanca, where she was inspired by the rich, rhythmic sounds of her Moroccan roots.
Currently,she has cultivated a unique style that seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary sounds. Casakobrae's sets are a sonic journey through the Global South, blended with hard and groovy sounds
REDMONKEY
REDMONKEY is a Montreal-based DJ known for her unique blend of North African sounds, Afrohouse, Amapiano, and Brazilian rhythms. Originally a gamer tag, her name evolved into a bold stage identity that reflects her dynamic and multicultural sound. With high-energy sets and smooth transitions, RDM brings vibrant, danceable grooves to every crowd, turning cultural fusion into pure rhythm.
