7:00 PM - ANTIFRAGILE

Performance

Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes

All audiences

Description

Sometimes you have to embrace accidents, storms, and shipwrecks. Above all, don’t hold on too tightly. It is by taking risks, breaking plates, missing our shot, walking on eggshells, breaking the rules, and making omelets that we can go somewhere new. Here is a performance-training where Le bureau de l’APA practices enjoying chaos and disorder… and invites us to do the same. Because, as Pippi Longstocking said: disorder is so much more fun! In this performance, things will happen where we least expect them… That way, we might become a little more “antifragile.”

A regular at the festival with his amazing performances (L’effondrement virtuel (2022), Le show sur l’effondrement qui n’aura pas lieu (2020), Entrez, nous sommes ouverts (2017), Les oiseaux mécaniques (2014), La jeune fille et la mort (2012)), Le bureau de L’APA sets the stage (or rather, dismantles it) for this 26th edition of the Mois Multi festival, highlighting the importance of play and pushing artistic limits through risk-taking. Guaranteed sensations!

8:30 PM - Public Confession

Performance

Duration: 70 minutes

Trauma warning: relational violence, sexual violence, rape

Description

Its title acting as a promise, Public Confession explores ambiguity and paradox, scrutinizing the noble and the vulgar, swinging between grace and brutality. Choreographer Mélanie Demers makes her loyal collaborator, Angélique Willkie, her muse. These two creative soulmates delve together into the act of telling one's story without shame. The result is a powerful solo, where anecdotes become painful secrets and where the body reveals as much, if not more, than words.

The trust that emerges from the deep connection between these two artists allows for total revelation, a courageous stripping down. On stage, Willkie, the raw material of the performance, cannot escape the gaze. Beside her, an enigmatic presence, sometimes devoted, sometimes hostile, manipulates and organizes the space. With her powerful voice and captivating presence, the performer delivers the beauty and the depths of her soul, with strength and fragility.
