Heidi Foss

Called ‘a revelation’ by UK’s ‘The Independent’ and heralded as ‘fantastically intelligent’ by ‘The Globe and Mail’, Heidi is a three time Canadian Comedy Award nominee for Best Female Stand-up in Canada, and has combined her background in theatre with her unusually sardonic perception of everyday life to become a standout presence on the North American comedy scene. Her dry, deadpan delivery has earned her three televised galas as a part of the Montreal International ‘Just For Laughs’ Festival, as well as numerous appearances on CBC radio, television, CBC’s ‘Halifax Comedy Festival’, and on CTV’s ‘Comedy Now!’ www.heidifoss.com/

David Acer

An award-winning author, television writer, stand-up comedian, inventor of magic tricks, comedy club co-owner and Creative Director of a Canadian entertainment brand called the SuperDogs™, David Acer likes keeping busy to avoid doing the dishes. He’s had his own special on The Comedy Network and appeared on a multitude of international specials, not to mention live at The Riviera in Las Vegas, The Magic Castle in Hollywood, and 13 times at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Younger audiences might also recognize him as “Doubting Dave” from the series Mystery Hunters, which garnered him two Gemini nominations (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmys) for Best Writing and the publication of his spin-off book, GOTCHA! 18 Amazing Ways to Freak Out Your Friends. GOTCHA! went on to become a Canadian bestseller and earned David two children’s literary-award nominations, as well as one win—the Hackmatack Children's Choice Award for Best Non-Fiction. It has since been translated into French and Danish. More recently David has contributed comedic pieces to Reader’s Digest Canada and appeared on CBC’s The Debaters, tackling hot-button topics like whether gravity is trying to kill us and who’s cooler: clowns or magicians. On top of all that, David is a world-class sleight-of-hand artist and inventor of magic tricks who has performed and lectured for magicians around the world. He was named Magician of the Year by the Canadian Association of Magicians and appeared on the cover of the American magic magazine, Genii, the industry’s oldest and most respected periodical. He has also had four books of his original tricks published—the latest, called More Power To You, by Hermetic Press (Seattle, WA). Now in his role as Creative Director at Canada’s Spot On Entertainment he has helped write and develop digital content, virtual productions and eight live touring shows for their enormously popular brand, the SuperDogs. These shows entertain over one million people every year at theatres and arenas across the country. davidacer.com/

Wassim El Mounzer

Wassim was named by the Montreal Gazette as one of the artists to watch in 2018. He has performed at Zoofest, the Edinburgh Fringe festival and has been featured on the BBC Arts Hour and the CBC as a part of Laughter at Lion D'Or. In 2019 he was the opening act for Sugar Sammy on a Canada wide theatre tour. www.hahaha.com/en/artists/wassim-el-mounzer

Sylvain Larocque

Humorist – Author – Comedian – Politician – Speaker Before Sylvain began a comedy career, he studied chemistry at McGill University. Later, he got a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Montreal. After graduation, he became a representative for a major computer company, and started doing stand up comedy here and there in various comedy clubs at night. After a very short time, there was such demand for his comedy style that he was able to devote himself exclusively to comedy, touring across Canada in English, and in French, and eventually all the way to France and Switzerland. Later, Sylvain also became a writer for some of the most popular TV shows in Quebec and several of the best comics in the business. In English Canada, his talent led him to be featured in 8 JUST FOR LAUGHS comedy festivals where he participated in the Just for laughs Galas on the big stage as well as several other festival venues, such as “Comedy Night in Canada,” “Bubbling with laughter,” and “The Montreal Show.” His other television credits in English Canada include his own episode of the critically acclaimed CBC series “Comics”, as well as “The founding nations of Comedy” from the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, in which Sylvain shared the stage with comedians Derek Edwards and Shaun Majumder. Sylvain also co-hosted a CBC comedy special called “Crossing the main” with Montreal comic David Acer. On radio, Sylvain has participated in several episodes of the hit show “Madly off in all directions” hosted by Lorne Elliot. In French Canada, Sylvain is a well-established star, greatly appreciated by the general public. He has participated in 12 Juste pour Rire comedy festivals in Montréal as both performer and head writer on the galas. He has written and co-produced three one-man shows, as well as an interactive theatre play that went on to become a huge success across the province. Four times, Sylvain has won the WRITER OF THE YEAR AWARD at the prestigious Oliver Awards Gala, which celebrates Quebec’s top comedic performers and writers. He was also awarded a GEMINI AWARD for his work on a French-Canadian television series called “Un gars, une fille”, which went on to be exported to over thirty countries worldwide. This extensive and skilled background makes Sylvain the perfect choice to host, emcee or simply do stand-up comedy at any corporate event. A big plus is that he can do the job in FRENCH, in ENGLISH or BILINGUALLY, switching languages back and forth, adjusting to the crowd, making everybody feel happy and a part of the event. His business background and his clean, sure-fire comedic style enable him to be in tune with the corporate environment. Furthermore, his writing talent makes it possible for him to produce customized material, if so required, for any corporate venue. sylvain-larocque.com/
