AZARA is an original quintet that blends flamenco rumba with influences of rumba, jazz, and Latin music. Founded in Montreal in 2017, the ensemble quickly stood out for its stage energy and cross-cultural sound, where traditions meet and merge. Since its formation, AZARA has performed its compositions on numerous stages, including the Canada Latin Awards gala in 2020 and the Vitrine MUZ showcase in 2022, establishing itself as one of Canada’s rising world music groups. The band features singer and composer Fernando Gallego El Bancalero, pianist, composer and arranger Gabriel Evangelista, guitarist Quique Tasta, percussionist Hanser Santos, and bassist Juan Pablo Montoya. Together, they are preparing the release of their debut album, scheduled for 2026, which promises to unveil the full richness and chemistry of their musical universe.
