Two Chinese ancient lute instrument Pipa (pear shaped lute) and Ruan (round shaped lute, also knowing as Moon Guitar) will be demonstrated, and performing repertoire spans cross centuries, encompassing the sound of multiple dynasties throughout history. The dynamic Pipa and Ruan performs lyrical music of ancient poems, representing folk dances across southern villages, songs of the ancient Silk Road, and lively festivals celebration.

The free concert series Musique, horizons lointains invites you to explore faraway musical territories through artists with rich traditions from Iran, Peru, Brazil and Argentina. Each musician will share the sense of the tradition they have mastered and the search for new horizons to take us beyond geographical and temporal borders. Listening differently to instruments such as the setar, the charango, the piano or the bandoneon will then allow you to better feel the pulse of each tradition, its future and its universal values …

The series Musique, Horizons lointains is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Conseil des Arts de Montréal and the City of Montreal. The concerts will take place in the Saint-Enfant-Jésus Church in the Mile-End and is specially designed to welcome you in accordance to the sanitary measures in effect.
Information and conditions:
-Wearing of the obligatory procedural mask at the entrance, while you are travelling across the church.
-An ensured one-meter distance between spectators (people coming from the same household can be placed side by side).
-Limited places.
-Tickets for concerts can only be reserved online at lepointdevente.com
-Ticket holders must arrive at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the concert.
-Seats will be assigned on the evening of the concert and you will placed by a member of our team (per family bubble, i.e. 2 people maximum side by side; family bubbles of more than 2 will be separated. Families with children will be placed in areas specially arranged for them (4 people maximum).
