Milena Tajada : danse flamenco
Milena (La Tormenta) est native de La Paz en Bolivie et s’est méritée en 2015 le premier prix de danse flamenco dans la catégorie solistes lors de la première édition de la First Flamenco Competition à La Paz. Depuis 2014, elle étudie de façon intensive en sessions d’été la danse à Séville à l’académie de flamenco CRISTINA HEEREN.
Born in 1998 in La Paz, Bolivia, she began dancing at the early age of 4, taking ballet classes, hip hop and jazz lessons at the CAP dance studiol. At age 11, she started Flamenco dance in the A COMPAS school with teacher Yadir Vázquez, received the "Young talent" award at age 13 (given by the Secretary of Culture of the City of La Paz), and joined the A Compás dance company at age 15.
In 2014 and 2015, she decided to pursue her training independently, in the intensive Sumer courses, (advanced level) of the prestigious CRISTINA HEEREN Foundation in Seville, Spain, working with the renowned professors Milagros Mengíbar, Javier Barón, Oscar de los Reyes y Luisa Palicio, amongst others.
In December 2015, Milena, won the First Flamenco Competition in La Paz, Bolivia, in the Soloist category with an international panel of judges from Chile, Spain and Argentina.
She has performed as guest soloist with the Bolivian flamenco ensemble Manfariel Gitano and La Treca Flamenca, with the classical Bolivian Ballet Company La Compañia (interpreting the gypsy queen in the full length ballet Don Quixote), and in the Second International Flamenco Festival of La Paz, sharing the stage with international guests.
From February to July 2017, she returned to Seville, Spain, where she attended as a full time student, the CRISTINA HEEREN FOUNDATION`s Flamenco dance training program with professors Milagros Mengíbar, Javier Barón, Luisa Palicio, Antonio Molina “El Chorro”, and Pepa Sanchez. She performed in the Jovenes talentos del Flamenco presentation in Seville, Spain organized by the Cristina Heeren Foundation
She has also taken additional workshops with “La Choni”, “La Moneta”, Alberto Sellés, Marco Jimenez, and Leonor Leal.
