it is a mood a small gesture a fragile sound like cracking ice maybe a flower maybe a landscape or maybe just soft & slow sounds from somewhere between the sea and the sky hoping to comfort one somehow, sometimes in the darkest times The first notes come out and you are suddenly elsewhere, wondering where the sounds are coming from and where they will be leading you. Always in delicacy and discretion, l i l a blooms softly with a hazy voice that could sooth or scare any soul. Sometimes dark folk, sometimes dream pop, sometimes ambient, l i l a’s music somehow hovers like a ghost over this drifting nostalgia seemingly ebbing and flowing with the distant tide. Less than a year after the release of a first homemade demo EP (‘songs from a room’, Feb. 2018), l i l a released the EP ‘quiet as fire’ (Nov. 2018). Reflecting on life, solitude, dreams, fears, love, death and losses, the songs form a recollection of four memories, each one of them bringing the listener to a precise and different universe.
