GUIDESTONES
Meet Guidestones, a Montreal band rooted in good vibes and positivity. Founded by twin brothers Ryan and Zander Boudreau (The Fierce), and vocalist/ guitarist Gabrielle La Rue (God Falls), the band also includes bassist Dizzy Velvet. Brought together by a mutual passion for creating music, Guidestones celebrates everyday themes including; love, innocence, and growth in a less than perfect - and at times cruel - world.
Since their late 2015 debut, the band has released their first EP, and played over 15 shows to an ever-growing fan base. Featured on Sofar Sounds’ YouTube channel, the band has begun to make waves in Montreal’s indie-rock scene, with
their simple and raw performances. Music videos for their singles “Northlands” and “Hotline”, produced by Alex James, have also provided further exposure for the band.
Characteristing their sound as a fresh mix of alternative/indie rock and pop, the band pays tribute to the 70’s and 80’s while examining the present-day. Released in April 2016, their debut EP “Cut & Run” provided listeners with the first cohesive collection of the band’s work. Tracks like “Ways of Old”, accentuate Guidestones keen ability to combine soul-churning sounds and lyrics in order to create a meaningful experience for listeners. Guidestones’ tracks possess radio-friendly appeal, while providing profound opportunities for introspection. As their name implies, the Guidestones are dedicated to helping fans navigate a wildly terrifying, but undeniably beautiful world.
