Rupak Kalkarni, a master of the bamboo flute 'BANSURI', was a child prodigy. By the tender age of 9, Rupak was accepted by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia as a disciple. Rupak has performed at almost all prestigious festivals, both, in India and abroad. Presently, Rupak heads the department of Flute at the Chinmaya University, helping hordes of youngsters fulfil their musical aspirations. Be it pure classical or World music, Rupak is a much sought after artiste. His dextrous playing, combined with his ability to create, have given rise to new ragas. He is also a composer and has scored original music pieces.
HINDOLE MAJUMDAR occupies a commendable position amongst the young tabla players of his generation. Inspired by his maternal grandfather, Late Sri Chittaranjan Roy, an ardent music lover, and his mother, Late Sunanda Majumdar, a teacher by profession and a Kathak disciple of Pandit Ramgopal Mishra of the Jaipur gharana, Hindole started learning tabla at the tender age of 5. Hindole now performs all over the globe accompanying various artists, and his work and experiment is critically acclaimed by music enthusiasts all over the globe. He has produced audio and video albums released by various record companies including his own record label Sunanda Records.
