Antoine, a history teacher in his early 50s, learns that he has lost a lot of his hearing. Unable to own up to his deficiency, he resigns himself to living in his bubble, even though his friends and family find his behavior increasingly odd. His encounter with Claire, a widow and a mother of a young girl who is mute, will lead him to open up to the world.
