L’Ensemble Urmawi et Labyrinth Ontario s'associent à nouveau pour présenter cet automne, une deuxième série "Du Tasnif au Muwashah".
Cette série propose de nouvelles pièces et chants traditionnels du Moyen-Orient (Muwashahat) et de l'Iran (Tasnif), offrant au public un vaste éventail des musiques savantes arabe et persane, ainsi que des compositions signées par Showan Tavakol. Une création qui illustre une nouvelle approche de la musique modale, au sein d'un ensemble vibrant les traditions ancestrales du Levant et de l'Asie occidentale.
En collaboration avec les musiciens invités du Labyrinth Ontario :
Pedram Khavarzamini (tombek) et Araz Salek (tar)
Présenté par l'Ensemble Urmawi; Lamia Yared (chant, oud et direction artistique), Sheila Hannigan (violoncelle), Joseph Khoury (riqq et bendir) et Nizar Tabcharani (qanun) et Showan Tavakol (compositions et kamanche).

Urmawi Ensemble and Labyrinth Ontario are once again coming together to present a second series, 'From Tasnif to the Muwashah,' this autumn. This series introduces new pieces to their repertoire as well as traditionnal Middle-Eastern songs (Muwashahat ) and Persian ballads (Tasnif) , offering the audience an extended range of Arabic and Persian music, as well as compositions by Showan Tavakol. This creation showcases a new approach to modal music within a vibrant ensemble that embraces the ancestral traditions of the Levant and Western Asia.
With special guest musicians from Labyrinth Ontario:
Pedram Khavarzamini (tombek) as well as Araz Salek (tar)
Presented by Ensemble Urmawi;
Lamia Yared (vocals, oud, artistic director), Sheila Hannigan (cello), Joseph Khoury (riqq and bendir), Nizar Tabcharani (qanun) and Showan Tavakol (compositions and kamanche).
