Paper Beat Scissors is the expanding and contracting experimental folk project of relocated-Brit Tim Crabtree. His unique, haunting voice, dynamic live shows and fusion of classical and electronic elements have been heralded on both sides of the Atlantic. The last year saw the release of the sophomore album Go On in Canada and Europe, receiving glowing responses from the BBC and Rolling Stone Germany amongst others. Crabtree was commissioned in 2015 to orchestrate Paper Beat Scissors music for chamber ensemble (Ritornello, Sasktoon) and full symphony orchestra (Nova Sinfonia, Halifax).
"Go On is a demonstration of Crabtree’s unique ability to use classical and electronic elements to blur the lines of folk music and leave you breathless." - Exclaim!
"textured, beautiful, nearly magical...a confident, stunning collection." CBC Music
Montreal-based Alt-Pop project Wander Years honed their unique sound through a decade of friendship and collaboration. 2015 saw the release of their self-produced EP, Instead, and in 2016 the recording project premiered their live show at Canadian Music Week. Wander Years' debut LP, produced by Graham Lessard (Stars, Young Galaxy) is in the final stages of mixing, and is set for release in early 2017.
