About Jon Blair:

Jon Blair is an actor, writer and comedian who has been a fixture in Toronto’s live comedy community for over ten years. As a solo sketch performer and monologist, Jon has performed at JFL42 and
Halifax Pop Explosion, and has made the Best of Fest list at both the Toronto and Montreal Sketch Comedy Festivals for two years running. He has written two one-hour solo sketch revues, I’m Only One Man and Live From The Garbage. Jon was also a repertory player and eventual head writer of Comedy Bar’s flagship sketch revue Sunday Night Live, working on the show for five years. In 2017 he joined the cast of the critically acclaimed stage show Swordplay: A Play of Swords for a national festival tour, and reprised his numerous roles in the show for the 2018 Next Stage Festival. Additional stage credits include Tommy in Hangman (Scapegoat Collective) and William in Even This Old Town Was A Forest (Birdtown & Swanville)

Onscreen, Jon is known for his recurring role as the voice of Jackson in the Canadian Screen Award-winning animated series People Watching, which released its second season this summer. Jon has appeared on Man Seeking Woman and The Beaverton , and was also the host of their online miniseries Prison And Politics. He was a recurring panelist on CMT’s Hit Or Miss, and a guest lead in BiteTV’s comedic horror anthology The Cutting Room.

Behind the scenes, Jon has worked as a comedy writer in TV, radio, web and theatre. He wrote for four seasons of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, during which time he self-produced a number of animated segments for the show. He also co-wrote the internationally successful stage show Spank! A Fifty Shades Parody, which toured in the US, Australia and Poland. He is a frequent contributor to CBC Radio’s quiz show Because News, and has authored numerous articles for The Beaverton as well as the ongoing sci-fi webcomic series What It Was Like for CBC. In 2016, he won the Just For Laughs Stand Up and Pitch competition alongside his writing partner Alice Moran for their original half-hour pilot Old Man, and was a featured artist at the 2016 New York Television Festival. The duo’s upcoming webseries It’s Over, about a couple going through a breakup and a zombie apocalypse simultaneously, is currently in pre-production.
